People have always respected numerology because it is an esoteric science based on relationships between numbers and coinciding events. It is also an invaluable tool that harnesses the power of numbers to reveal one’s talents and hidden potential. Every number has a specific nature that creates certain vibrations that handle particular life patterns.
The Ancient History of Numerology
It all started 4,000 years ago with the Chaldeans studying numerology in ancient Babylon. Historical records confirm that several civilizations, including the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Phoenicians, Chinese, Mayans, and Arabs, investigated it. The Greek philosopher Pythagoras modernized the Chaldean system and created his own Pythagorean numerology. He was born around 600 BCE in Greece. Pythias, a priestess of the Temple of Apollo, also known as the Oracle at Delphi, announced his arrival.
Pythagoras considered the science of numbers the key to uncovering the universe’s secrets. To discover them, he spent 54 years studying in ancient Egypt, Persia, and other centers of knowledge from that time. The highest priests and the best teachers taught him. When he returned to Greece, he founded a secret society that later became the prototype of philosophical schools.
The Pythagoreans studied mathematics and physics, perfecting their knowledge of numbers as the basis of everything. They could see the beginning of the universe and its final form through the numbers. The elements of numbers are the elements of everything that exists. In numbers, they could see the source of all forms and energies in the world. The assignment of human traits to numbers included characteristics such as maternal and paternal, active and passive, concrete and general, fun and profound. As numbers have a life of their own, they can build relationships with each other and influence their energies and vibrations. Also, they are natural elements that people use to decipher their lives.

In Modern History
Numbers have been significant since time immemorial, wherever civilization, religion, art, and science existed. They were used for counting, blueprints of buildings, and for mystical and even magical purposes in Europe, as well as in the West in general, and primarily in France, Spain, and Portugal. Kabbalists, who studied the esoteric Hebrew teachings, contributed mainly to popularizing, developing, and applying numerology from the 12th century onwards. In Western Europe during the 16th and 17th centuries, Hermetic philosophers studied astrology, alchemy, and the mystical meaning of numbers.
Cheiro, a famous Chaldean numerologist of this lineage, lived in the late 19th century. He predicted the fate of prominent people of his time, including royalty, politicians, and famous people such as King Edward VI, Oscar Wilde, Joseph Chamberlain, Mark Twain, Thomas Edison, and Sarah Bernhardt. However, only a small fraction of Cheiro’s knowledge was recorded in his books, as he kept this knowledge secret for fear of the Roman Catholic Church’s Inquisition.
Furthermore, in the 19th and early 20th centuries, numerology became a very influential discipline that took on more and more characteristics of mature science. Joanna Dow Balliett (1908) published “The System of Numerical Vibrations” based on Pythagoras’s teaching. She also published the book “Philosophy of Numbers – Their Sounds and Colors.”
Joanna is considered the mother of modern numerology. She wrote about the vibrations of numbers, tones, and colors to make humanity aware that we are divine beings. She also spoke freely of reincarnation and could, like Pythagoras, hear the music of the spheres. Her successor, Dr. Juno Belle Kapp, founded the California Institute of Numerological Research and contributed significantly to the modern numerology that we use today.
How Can Numerology Help Me?
Numerology is a powerful tool that contributes to self-discovery, self-building, and improving the qualities we inherited in this life. If you read this text, you are probably looking for some answers, guidance, peace, or, like most of us, you want to improve your life. The intention is that numerology serves you as a tool for personal development and your highest well-being. Numbers in numerology give us an overview of our talents, opportunities, challenges, and lessons that we need to master at specific points in our lives.
Numerology allows us to look inside ourselves objectively, revealing and showing us fundamental aspects of our personality that we were unaware of and whose influences, powers, development possibilities, and potentials we underestimated or neglected. Every decision we make is right because it leads us to a new lesson we need. Numbers help us by giving us guidelines, possible outcomes, favorable periods for certain activities, and the ability to understand better the energy surrounding us. The more energy you invest, the more you feel the power of numbers.
The Secret of Birthdays
Our date of birth has a unique vibration and power because it is no coincidence that we were born on a specific day in a particular month and year. Ancient numerologists believe that the cosmic forces align with our date of birth and help us grow throughout life while containing everything we need to fulfill our life’s purpose. The birth date reveals our inner talents, strengths and weaknesses, what we should do, and where we should go in our lifetime. Combined with letters in our name, it also reveals our lucky times, periods, and lucky numbers.

Everything in the world has its number, in the macrocosm and the microcosm, in the material world and the world of ideas and concepts. Numerological science can analyze everything. The letters in your name are numbers, too; these numbers add up to the numbers from the date of birth, from which we get the numerological chart.
My Lucky Time
As we grow through life, we all have lucky and unlucky times. Also, we fall and rise again and go through bad and good periods. But how do you determine when that lucky time will come? With your date of birth and the help of numerology or astrology, you can calculate in advance when each individual will have a blessed time throughout the year. The lucky time should be used to try your luck. However, you could only take the opportunity to try to win the lottery with your lucky numbers in that period. Besides, these lucky times can be used for significant life changes, such as setting a date for a wedding, going on a trip, or just setting a special event for yourself.
The Most Important Numbers in Numerology
A numerology chart can be confusing at first glance because it contains many numbers and information. Below are descriptions of the most important numbers.
- Life path number: This is the most crucial number and should be given the most attention. It gives us a broad overview of the opportunities, challenges, and lessons we will encounter in this lifetime. Your life path is the road you must travel to fulfill your life’s purpose.
- Expression number: This is the second most important number. The expression number reveals your physical and mental constitution, the orientation or goal of your life, and the talents, abilities, and shortcomings that were with you when you were born.
- Heart’s desire number: Your heart’s desire is the inner you. This number shows your true motivation, reveals the general intention behind many of your actions, and dramatically influences your life choices.
- Personality number: This number tells you what image you are sending about yourself. We often consciously (and sometimes unconsciously) decide how to present ourselves to the world, what to hide, and what to show. Therefore, this number does not describe your inner self but what is visible to others from the outside.
- Lucky numbers: There can always be more lucky numbers. Knowing what they are is essential because they can help you a lot in life. Lucky numbers might bring you a life partner, offer you a fantastic journey, or even help you win the lottery. In general, relying on lucky numbers can bring you luck in life.
Use of Numbers and Numerology
There are several primary areas of numerology, such as:
- Your date of birth describes the path you will take in your life;
- Your full name represents the person who moves on that path;
- Divination – divination and prediction of certain events;
- Self-development and spiritual progress, and
- Counseling.
Like astrology, numerology is based on the mutual connection between your date of birth and the cosmos. Therefore, it is all about mathematics. With numerology, you can extract helpful information that can significantly help you spiritually.
